He left Huttenbach, Bavaria for America in 1836. His brothers would follow later.

The Brothers

Nathan Rhine

Nathan was the proprietor of a dry goods store in Independence, California.

Nathan arrived on board the Sarah Sands on 20 Feb 1849. He  became a US Citizen in California in 1855.

Henry Rhine

Henry Rhine was naturalized in Hernando, Mississippi in 1845. He likely arrived in this country five years earlier in 1839-1840. 

Abraham Rhine

Abe Rhine arrived in New York with his brother Seligman in 1842. Both Abe and Sam ended up in Texas.

Seligman (Samuel) Rhine

Seligman Rhine arrived in New York with his brother Abe in 1842. Before settling in Texas, Sam may have settled first in Mississippi.

David Rhine

David settled in Texas where he and his brothers Henry, Abe, and Sam operated  a local chain of dry goods stores.

Solomon Rhine

Solomon's naturalization took place in Holly Springs, Mississippi, in 1850. His immigration record has not  been located.
