Nathan Rhine

Nathan arrived in New York from Liverpool on 20 Feb 1849 aboard the Steamship Sarah Sands. From there he made his way to the gold fields of California, where he operated a dry goods store.
He became an American citizen in California in 1855, and married Fredericke Strauss in San Francisco in 1863.
The family had homes in San Francisco and Independence. (They were enumerated in both places in the 1880 U.S. Census.)
